The Creswick Community & Business Directory
The Creswick Community & Business Directory 2005-2006 is a joint initiative of the Victorian Government Streetlife Progrm, The Shire of Hepburn and the Creswick Development Committee (CDC).
The CDC was established in 2004 as a Section 86 Committee of The Hepburn Shire Council for the purpose of implementing the Creswick Development Plan completed in 2003. Also in 2004 the Council successfully obtained funding through the Victorian Government StreetLife Program to employ a part-time coordinator for two years to assist the CDC in implementing the economic development objectives of the Creswick Development Plan.
Community consultation undertaken through the StreetLife project and objectives outlined in the Creswick Development Plan identified the need for a locally based Directory to assist residents to access locally based services, encourage residents to purchase goods and services locally and provide a convenient source of local information.
These objectives led to the design and production of 5,000 hardcopies of this Directory, plus this web-based version. Members of the CDC, with particular acknowledgement of Sussan Smith and her family, have worked on this Directory on a voluntary basis as a service to the community. The printed Directory is intended to be produced each year subject to financial viability. The Web Directory will be updated regularly.
Every effort has been made to include a complete list of community groups, services and local businesses. Line listings are available, 2 per business/organisation, are free of charge. If you have a community group, service or business located within the pre-amalgamation boundaries of the Creswick Shire and you would like to be included please contact..
Businesses may also opt to purchase advertising in the Directory at rates affordable even to the sole operator.
